Taylor Swift is constantly raising the bar for musicians and her latest album Evermore is no exception to that. Swift has won 10 Grammys and been nominated for 41. Her personality and raw talent draw fans in. Swift has released three albums in two years, Lover, Folklore, and Evermore. Evermore is the sister album and a continuation of Folklore. Evermore is an album jam packed with emotion and beautiful story telling. The lyrics in this latest album are Swift’s best yet.

Swift tells a less hopeful story with “Champagne Problems” than with the albums’ singles. The song is about someone being proposed to and turning down their partner. She tells how things fell apart for the couple. The idiom “champagne problems” means struggling to decide between two preferable outcomes. The possible outcomes one partner faces is between improving their mental state or getting married. The lyrics, “She would’ve made such a lovely bride what a shame she’s f****d in the head,” show the dilemma they’re faced with. This song is absolutely stunning.

Swift has been very open with her past mental health struggles. She uses songwriting as an outlet to help others going through a similar situation. “Champagne Problems’’ displays a whole new level of honesty. That we know of this isn’t a personal story of Swift’s but, there is no doubt about the raw realness of this song.

“Champagne Problems” displays a situation that has occurred to many people struggling mentally. The lyrics, “her picture in your wallet
you won’t remember all my champagne problems” explain how the partner proposed to is still very much in love. However, they must decline the engagement in order to help their mental state.

Evermore as a whole is a work of art. It’s sonically perfect. The songs are cyclical and tell a sad and beautiful story. Swift tells of heartbreak, love, loss, and just about everything in between. As always Swift has something for everyone. This is her ninth studio album. It has already been theorized that there is a third album in the Folklore series. Evermore is an album with no skips. It will continue to be successful with generations to come. Taylor Swift is a supernova and her talent is unmatched. Swift will go down in history as the best singer songwriter of our generation. Her albums are phenomenal and Evermore is no exception.
